Among Joan Miro's finest works, it was published by Studio d'Arte Perna for its “From Giotto to Picasso, avant-guarde” collection.

Joan Miró was born in Barcelona in 1893 into a family of jewelers. After studying business to please his father, he turned to art and joined the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona. After trying his hand at Fauvism and Cubism, he adhered to the surrealist movement which he discovered during his stays in Paris where he settled in 1920. From 1923, he developed his very specific style, made up of symbols and geometric shapes that will make him famous.
He became famous in 1925 with his painting Le Carnaval d'Arlequin. His style will evolve and will be nourished by his encounters, in particular with young artists of the time like Pollock who themselves were inspired by the master. Miró is now considered one of the greatest artists of the 20th century.
